So far so good. Bought this to empty my hot tub every 4 months for cleaning. 440-gallon hottub was emptied in about 30 minutes. Not noisy. Came with garden hose adapter so it was plug and play for me.

Getting us through hurricane Matthew southeast of Raleigh, NC, as the basement sump pump couldn’t keep up with hours of 6″ per hour rainfall. Deployed the pump and have been lowering the water 1″ per hour with about a 10′ lift (1200 gal/hr). The generator standing by just in case but this little guy saved the furnace and hot water heater!

I had a flooded basement and December from tons of rain. I’m still cleaning up from that but now my son put in the sump pump. We had a bunch of rain again last week and it works perfectly… Amazon thank you for carrying these things That are easy for us to find and use, and thank you to people who put in the reviews because it helped make me make my decision. That’s why I’m doing it now. You will not regret this one, I promise. I had a video but I don’t know how to post it.

Serious groundwater issues in our basement this past spring. Old 150 year old house where part of the basement is dirt and part is concrete. We got so much rain this past spring, the water table in our area was all the way to the surface so when it rained, it just rose above the dirt floor. Had persistent 3″+ water on that side. Was able to self-install this pump in a basin and it worked and worked and worked! There were times where it just pumped non-stop. Once I finally got ahead of the groundwater, it has done its job great. I’m not sure how many years of service I’ll get out of it, but the price is great, it was quiet, and pumped great.

Bought it to drain my 10,000 gallons in-ground pool. Worked PERFECT! Zero issues. The ONLY drawback, which has been the case with most pumps. Once you get to the last gallons, the rise to ground level is tough. I rigged a rack to keep the hose vertical and it worked fine.

MikeBinAZ

This pump is quiet, and pumps out serious water! I drained my 25,000-gallon swimming pool in about 24 hours with this guy! Drained it all the way down to about 1″ of water left. I Highly recommend this pump!

4. Flotec FPPM3600D-01/09 1/3 HP Pedestal Sump Pump

Another best submersible pump is the Flotec FPPM3600D-01 pedestal sump pump which is specially designed for use on broader and twelve-inch basins. Even though this sump pump is mostly considered to be a replacement pump, it can still be used as a new installation and having a vertical float switch simply means that this sump pump would only get into action when it is needed or when it is called upon.

However, the only downside of this pump is its six-foot power cord which might cause users to need an extension.

The reason why users love its vertical float switch is that it ensures that excess water gets eliminated before this machine gets shuts down and you can rely on this sump pump for as long as twenty years thanks to its pedestal and thermoplastic design.

The reason why this sump pump is also used as a replacement pump is that it can be mounted easily on other brands and a new hole in any foundation would not be necessary thanks to its 12-inch basin diameter.

  • Lightweight design boosts ease of use
  • Comes with a vertical float switch which gets rid of excess water
  • Can be installed new or used as a replacement pump

Cons:

  • Makes noise during operation

I needed a pedestal pump to empty my sump about once every day or so. This was the ideal pump; easy to install and does the job perfectly. Only time will tell its reliability and lifespan. I plan on “testing” it once a month to make sure it does not seize up due to sitting without use (should that ever occur). I am totally satisfied with this purchase.

Amazon Customer

Installed for a few days now, so far so good. Very quiet, float works wonderfully. Our first experience with a pedestal pump. Pleased, hoping for longevity as others have been happy with it’s durability.

5. Liberty Pumps 404 1/3 HP, 115V Residential Drain Pump

  • Comes with side and front inlet options
  • Runs a quiet operation that makes it suitable for various purposes

Cons:

  • Its power cord has no waterproof design

This thing is too cool. Pumps water like a demon. It is overpowered to drain a whirlpool tub … it takes 10-20 seconds to fill and 5 seconds to eject. As a result, it goes on and off more than a dozen times while my 90-gallon whirlpool tub drains. I am concerned it may fail prematurely due to the rapid start/stop. Since we only use it 1-3 times per week, maybe it won’t be a problem.

Erk1313

Works like a charm and has a 2″NPS port to meet the code for a laundry discharge. Intake (side port) and vent are interchangeable. Nice and quiet. Sized well for my new HE washer.

Great pump. Was delivered fast and packaged well. I’m not a plumber by any means. A combo of the included instructions and a 5 minute YouTube video gave me all the knowledge I needed.

We had a flood in our basement on 3/19/20 and our pump was not keeping up with all the water coming in. Our neighbor brought over his extra pump which is the same pump that we bought off of Amazon (Zoeller). It went right to work and pumped out water at a faster rate than ours. 5 minutes after he hooked up his, ours quit! It is a bit noisy when it runs but it doesn’t stay on very long at all. We bought the same one that he let us use and we are happy. My husband installed it himself and said that it was easy.

What a great find. I heard about water driven back up sumps when in Ohio last winter. If you travel a lot and you have valuables in your basement subject to an overflow of water from your sump, then this is a must. It is gravity fed from your main water line, so even when your house power shoots craps for longer than 8 hours, this will work (as compared to a battery-driven back up where the battery will just run out of juice and your basement will flood). I would buy another in a New York minute. Unless you are a plumber or incredibly handy, I would highly recommend a professional install due to the cut into your main water line.

Glock17

So easy to hook up. I suggest u get a slotted sump cover. Most install pics I’ve seen have no cover installed since the pump sits over the cover it makes it difficult to install on a standard cover. Just did my first test by filling up the basin and wow is this pump quiet I hardly realized it was pumping till I saw it cleared all the water in my basin. Also be sure to install a backflow preventer my local plumbing inspector recommended the watts 9d and it seems to be working great.

8. WAYNE ESP25 12 Volt Battery Back-Up Sump Pump System

The WAYNE ESP25 is the best option anyone who is in need of a battery backup sump pump can go for and this is actually the second product from the WAYNE brand to make it to this review.

This is simply the best as it comes with every necessary feature that you can think of for it to function properly including an alarm but the only thing that needs to be purchased separately is a battery.

It is also recommended that when buying the battery, the WAYNE WSB1275 battery should be bought as it offers up to eight hours of run time and comes already charged.

Coming already charged means this battery can start working inside the sump pump immediately it arrives and the alarm of the sump pump rings when this backup starts operating.

This alarm system also informs you when the battery is running low and this backup pump comes with a two-year limited warranty. However, the battery comes with a one year warranty as well.

Pros:

  • Easily installed on an already existing system
  • Its alarm helps in notifying users on operation and battery status
  • Comes with a ten-foot head that offers space for emergency situations

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come with a battery

The installation of the unit was not difficult. After hooking up the battery, I tested the unit by lifting the float switch. The pump started up and the alarm sounded. After releasing the float switch, the pump went off after a short time. All returned to normal (the alarm went off) and the control panel properly indicated the battery was being charged. I am very satisfied with the operation of the system.

Thankfully, we have yet to encounter a scenario where the backup pump was required. We have had the unit for a couple of months so far. Installation and instructions were straightforward and not difficult. Battery chirps if the pump is activated. The pump isn’t the same output as the regular, but it clears our sump hole quickly enough to provide confidence.

Works perfect. I learned a few things.
1) you have to use a check valve for both the main and the backup pumps (kind of a no-duh when you think about it). The attached picture shows the installation of the pumps.
2) there are alternatives to the Wayne battery. I was very concerned about what battery to use. The Wayne battery is expensive and I had seen in other forums that you just need a deep cycle marine battery. I found a Duracell SL127MDC at batteries plus that fit and works just fine – i think it was about $89.

So I originally wrote a review after the installation of this sump pump in which I gave it 4 stars. I decided to write another one after I saw this sump pump in action. About a week after installation, a severe thunderstorm knocked out power in my area. We were without power for about a day and I was worried that my basement could flood due to the heavy rains. Well I worried for nothing. Within 20 minutes after the power went out, the backup sump pump kicked in. The charger embedded in the battery box would beep and immediately the DC sump pump would switch on and evacuate the water. It did this regularly every 17 minutes for the entire 26 hours we were without power. We got this sump pump just in time and it worked exactly as it was supposed to.

  • Designed to drain standing water with ease

Cons:

  • Doesn’t come assembled

This is a great pump and basin setup for a crawl space. Installation was simple and testing showed that the sensor worked perfectly. I drilled another row of holes in the basin to increase volume and plumbed a basic 1.5″ pvc output tube to the watershed. The tubing provided was not useful for anything and was discarded. The pump is very powerful and emptied the basin in a few seconds. The cycling was perfect in that the basin needed to be more than half full before the pump activated.

This pump isn’t cheap, but you do get what you pay for. It is so quiet that you honestly will doubt that it is running and fill the pump well with water just to make sure it is functioning. It has worked flawlessly since we got it 5 months ago. It kicks on 8 to 9 times a day as the need arises sometimes more if there is a lot of rain. If your not handy with concrete work I wouldn’t suggest trying to put it in yourself. Couldn’t be happier with this product.
